The embedded motion sensor technology records impact, spin, position, trajectory, number of ball passes, and play time, however they lacked a platform capable of reporting these metrics in real time.

Real-time performance analytics are a powerful training tool for athletes, serving as a personal coach for individuals of all ages and skill levels. To provide the holistic reporting needed to yield notable improvement, the client outlined a list of critical application features.

Although this client onboarded Chetu to oversee and carry out mobile application development, this was also an augmentation project in part. The client’s internal team continued to engineer the motion sensors and smart soccer ball, while the Chetu team developed a mobile solution using the data transmitted from the sensors.

The finished mobile application is Android and iOS compatible, giving users a fully interactive soccer experience.

Users input their information into the system, registering for accounts at the onset, and then logging into their personalized account every time after. After creating an account, users are able to update and alter their original registration as needed.

When connecting the mobile app to the smart soccer ball, users receive a notification when the two have paired. From that moment on, the ball transmits all game session data to the mobile application where athletes can view their statistics in real-time. They can share their data with other accounts, invite friends to join, and view leader-boards of other users.

The most profound capability is the tracking and reporting module, where players can review their improvement over time, understanding the progress they have made through a series of metrics.
